Brief description of the walk:
The “Belstone Beauty” Walk
Belstone Beauty
Back to  Walks
#Walks

After leaving the village, this varied and memorable walk really starts in the natural amphi-theatre of the Taw Marsh plain.

On to the top of Steeperton tor!  Here you will be able to take in some of the best views of the north moor- weather permitting!

After crossing the river in Steeperton Gorge, our next stop is Oke tor, a massive pile of granite rocks and boulders at 466m above sea level.

Heading almost due north, you will follow the “Belstone Range” of tors back towards the village, but not before stepping over the famous “Irishman’s Wall”

A walk that you will want to repeat again and again!

With the unmistakable shape of Steeperton tor ahead, you will soon climb gradually up to Hound tor via the ancient settlements at White Hill and the stone circle near Little Hound tor.
