Who for:-                        Those people who have attended our "Introduction to GPS" course, and wish

                                          to increase their working knowledge. Also for anyone wanting to practice

                                          using their own GPS in a controlled environment.

                                          This course is held in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere to encourage maximum

                                           learning.

What will be covered:-                                          

• The best way to practice with a GPS unit is to actually get out into the "Great Outdoors" and use it!  So the Compassworks team have designed this totally outdoor day for participants who wish to improve their practical GPS skills.

• As well as providing a chance to use all the main features of a GPS, and to iron out any problems, the day will be a great opportunity to discuss with others the techniques involved while navigating.

• Locating a Geocache.

Method:-                         A totally outdoor day of practical exercises.

Terrain:-                          7 - 9 kilometres over semi rough open moorland.

Equipment:-                  Participants will need to bring suitable clothing  and footwear for outdoor work.

                                         You can either use your own GPS unit or for a small charge you can use one

                                          of ours.

Catering:-                       Please bring your own packed lunch and drinks.
